Postcard printer price comparison

One question that gets asked a lot among illustrators around the ol' World Wide Interwebs is where do you get your postcards printed? Those who have been at it a while seem to have their favorites, and I have mine certainly, but I thought that since I'm such a nice Viking (and I got bored one afternoon), I'd compile as definitive a list of online printer's as one probably could before falling asleep at one's keyboard.

Not only do I hope to provide this list as a resource, but I'd be anxious to know what other folks think of any of these vendors through experience.

My personal favorite is GotPrint (best quality, best price as far as I can find), but check the others out and see what you think. I only priced a standard size, but tried to get two quotes each, starting with the lowest quantity available from that vendor. All prices are for full color, both sides.

Excellent post..thank you! I love PSPrint, but I'll try GotPrint now that you've endorsed it highly! Awesome postcards, Sean!

Postcards are pricey - $145 for 100 and $175 for 200, but the real benefit of using them is for their portfolio packs - where you can get smaller runs of multiple designs printed.

Crap! I've been using Overnight and it is more expensive than Gotprint. Shoot.

I use overnightprints a lot and they give really great discounts when you earn points with them. They also always have some sort of sale running. They will do a free glossy finish, which a lot of my clients like.

I'll have to try out some of the others though.

I know a few good places for postcard printers but I live in Canada so it's probably different for you Americans ;)

You should not judge postcards by the price. Many of the sites have sample packs you can request.
I've personally used VistaPrint, Overnight Prints, Jakprints PS Print and Modern Postcard. Jakprints has the best color matching I've seen out of those. Modern Postcard's stuff always seemed to come out too dark, so I stopped using them a long time ago. Not sure if they are any better now. Overnight Prints is probably second to Jakprints for color.

Bookmarking done. Some post card printing services are very expensive.

I have not had great experience using those big online printers. The quality can be hit or miss. If you're looking for a local NYC printer I highly recommend Influence Graphics. Their website is www.influencegraphics.com
